Intelligence Brief
First fruits (reshit) were the initial portion of harvest, offered to Yahweh before any was consumed or sold. This was not a tip from leftovers but a declaration of priority — God gets the first and best, not the remainder. The practice required faith: you gave before you knew the full yield. Leviticus 23:10-14 codified this as law, but the principle predates Sinai (Cain and Abel's offerings). Christ is called 'the firstfruits of those who have fallen asleep' (1 Corinthians 15:20) — the first to rise in the resurrection harvest, guaranteeing the full harvest of all who belong to Him. His resurrection is the initial yield; ours is the coming crop.
