HIDDEN MANNA

The manna God provided in the wilderness (Exodus 16). A pot of manna was placed inside the Ark (Exodus 16:33-34; Hebrews 9:4). Jewish tradition held Jeremiah hid the Ark before the Babylonian destruction. Christ declared Himself the true bread from heaven (John 6:31-35). The hidden manna is intimate sustaining fellowship with Christ — spiritual sustenance unavailable to those who compromise with idolatrous feasts. GK: tou manna tou kekrymmenou (τοῦ μάννα τοῦ κεκρυμμένου). HEB: man (מָן); tsaphan (צָפַן) — to hide, treasure up.
