A community in which every member has direct, unmediated access to God — not a priestly caste mediating for the rest, but every believer functioning as a priest-king before God. Drawn from Exodus 19:6, God's original design for Israel at Sinai, now realized and fulfilled in Christ. In Israel, the roles of priest and king were always strictly separated (Uzziah was struck with leprosy for attempting to combine them, 2 Chronicles 26).
