A message originating with God and delivered through a human vessel. Includes both foretelling (predicting future events) and forthtelling (declaring God's word into the present with authority). The prophet speaks not from his own wisdom but as a mouthpiece. Revelation is the final prophetic book of the canon. GK: prophēteia (προφητεία) — pro (before/in front of) + phēmi (to speak); to speak before, or to speak on behalf of. Primarily means speaking for God, not merely predicting events. SCIF: Advance intelligence directive — command communication about future operational events, issued before they occur so forward-deployed personnel can orient correctly.
