Intelligence Brief
The Mishneh ('Second' or 'Second Quarter') was the newer part of Jerusalem, expanded northward during Hezekiah's reign to accommodate refugees from the fallen northern kingdom. It was enclosed by the 'Broad Wall' (still visible today). The prophetess Huldah lived there (2 Kings 22:14). As the invasion progresses from the Fish Gate, the wailing spreads to this residential district. The geography is precise: breach at the gate, then screaming in the neighborhoods.
