The joined wings create a unified platform for the throne above. The creatures never turn because they have faces in all directions — they move straight toward wherever the spirit directs without needing to rotate. This is not mechanical description but theological statement: those who serve God's throne move in perfect unity, instant obedience, and complete coordination. There is no confusion, no delay, no independent agenda. The church is later called to this same unity — one body, many members, moving together under one Head (Ephesians 4:3-6).
