YHWH (rendered 'Yahweh' or 'LORD' in most translations) is the divine name revealed to Moses at the burning bush — 'I AM WHO I AM' (Exodus 3:14). It declares God's self-existence, eternal presence, and covenant faithfulness. This is not a generic title but a personal name, used when God relates to His people in covenant commitment. Every occurrence of Yahweh in Proverbs signals that wisdom is not abstract philosophy but relational knowledge of the covenant God. Jesus claims this name directly in John 8:58 ('Before Abraham was, I AM'), identifying Himself as the Yahweh of the Old Testament — the one who made and keeps every covenant promise.
