Five chapters — likely PAUL's earliest letter, written to a young church under persecution that's confused about eschatology. The Thessalonians thought they'd missed the Second Coming or that their dead believers were lost. Paul's pastoral response: comfort, clarify, keep working. Chapter 4:13-18 provides the most detailed description of the rapture/resurrection event in the New Testament — the Lord descends, the dead in Christ rise first, the living are caught up. Every chapter ends with a reference to Christ's return. This letter is an after-action report on a church plant and a forward-looking briefing on the mission's endgame.
