BOOK DOSSIER: JUDE
Testament: NT | Chapters: 1 | Status: 0% DECLASSIFIED
One chapter — twenty-five verses — a short-range missile aimed at false teachers who have 'crept in unnoticed.' JUDE, the brother of James and half-brother of Jesus, wanted to write about salvation but switched to emergency mode. The infiltrators are identified by their methodology: they pervert grace into license, deny Christ's lordship, and corrupt fellowship from the inside. Jude reaches for the heaviest historical examples — fallen angels, Sodom, Korah's rebellion, Balaam's error, Cain's way — to make the threat visceral. His closing doxology — 'to him who is able to keep you from stumbling' — is the antidote to the entire letter. The danger is real, but the Keeper is stronger.
Scarlet Thread
Jude 24-25 — 'Now to him who is able to keep you from stumbling and to present you blameless before the presence of his glory with great joy.' The scarlet thread terminates in a throne room — operatives presented without defect before the full weight of glory. Christ doesn't just extract from the field; He delivers to the final position. The thread that opened in Genesis 3:15 closes with 'great joy.'
