BOOK DOSSIER: TITUS
Testament: NT | Chapters: 3 | Status: 0% DECLASSIFIED
Three chapters of church-planting directives for the island of Crete — a culture so corrupt that even their own prophets called them 'liars, evil beasts, lazy gluttons,' and PAUL says the testimony is true. TITUS has the assignment of appointing elders in every town and silencing false teachers who are 'upsetting whole families.' Paul provides elder qualifications, household instructions, and a compressed gospel summary in 2:11-14 that rivals any passage in Romans. The letter is short, practical, and relentlessly focused on sound doctrine producing transformed behavior. Grace isn't permissive — it's formative.
Scarlet Thread
Titus 2:13 — 'Waiting for our blessed hope, the appearing of the glory of our great God and Savior Jesus Christ, who gave himself for us.' Paul assigns Jesus the designation 'great God and Savior' — direct deity classification — and ties His self-sacrifice to a future return in glory. The operative who bled is the operative who's inbound. Same asset. Two deployments.
